Mine took place about 17 years ago. I killed a little button buck early one morning. I did not know much about bow hunting like scent control and etc. My equipment was pretty funny at the time. I actually had a good bow, Martin Lynx. My accessories on the other hand was pretty comical. I had one of those game tracker string things on it that you attach to your arrow. That idea did not last long. The string broke by the way when the BB ran. I had these broad heads called Blood Trailers. Oh man they are terrible by todays standards. I tried my best to find a picture of them on the net but no luck. Anyway, I was just curious.

My first bowkill was a yearling doe that I shot at 30 yards at the age of 14. Got lucky and made a great shot.....she only went about 40 yards. Used a Gamegetter II 2018 arrow, a Wasp 4-Blade 140 gr broadhead, and shot a Jennings Forked Lightning bow with fingers and one of the Flipper II arrow rests. It was actually an accurate set-up but very, very slow compared to today's standards. Plus it was very difficult to keep the arrow on the rest most of the time. That was back in the mid-80's.................

My first bowkill came only after the 5th sit of the first season I tried. I had a small 7 pointer come within 15 yards for a nice broadside shot.....I guess the luck never ceased!...LOL
